The work that I feel as is the most successful is my music poster for the X Infinity Watsky tour. This is the most recent work I have created, and I feel as if it is the most dynamic and unique work I have created. I believe this is just because it is the most recent piece and I have just grown as a designer as I have created more and become more experienced.
There are many things I could improve in. The biggest area that I believe will help bring my pieces to the next level of design is more text variation and customization. Text customization is something that I have seen in many different designer’s works, and it really helps to enforce the idea of the design and make it something different and special.
Design has been a very fun process for me because of how much experimentation you can do. Until this year I have only taken physical art classes, such as drawing and painting, in which if you put something on your paper it is not coming off. However with Graphic Design, there can be so much experimentation. If you do not like something you can just delete it and continue with new ideas. This has been really fun for me because I can really make sure I have a concrete idea that I really like and can always just revise and edit it.
It seems that within my art I have a rather minimalist style. The compositions of my work tend to be very simple shapes, with bold outlines and bright colors within shapes. I believe that if a piece has a too busy and dynamic look and feel to it, it renders it useless because people won’t be able to achieve the wanted meaning from it. I also think that me having a very certain minimalistic style will help me as a designer, because it then allows people to see patterns in my work, and know me by my style and not my name attached to it.

Semester 2
This summer the piece that I am most proud of and the most successful is my Star Wars poster that I created for the design your own project. I Think this piece is the most successful because it shows the extent to which my photoshop skills improved and how I could take a media phenomenon and make it unique and my own thing.
I think I can improve in everything. I just need to keep creating works and keep experimenting with the adobe programs. I can only get better by continuing to work. And graphic design is really something that has sparked my interest and I want to keep working with it and getting better.
The Star Wars poster was my favorite project. I really love star wars, so to make this project was very exciting. I could connect to the project so easily, and I was always ready to then come work on it because I was so invested in it. My least favorite project was the collage project. I think it was a very useful project and I am very glad we did it, and I still enjoyed it, but it forced me to make it with a very different approach then I had been doing for all my other projects. I had to be very image focused and I was not able to use shapes and things I made as much.
My process did not change too much between the different programs. I treated Indesign and Photoshop pretty similarly. I honestly see those two programs as just extensions of themselves because for the most part I used Photoshop to edit and then formatted in Indesign. Illustrator however was very different for me. In Illustrator I felt much more connected to how I was when I did drawing and painting. I could sketch in the program and just play around and my layout would be very messy until I just finally locked down what I was designing.
this is actually something I thought about most during the avatar project. The whole purpose of the project was to fit into an online group. I did not like this aspect of the project, and I basically just designed the avatar how I wanted, I never thought about the online aspect. And this is not something I could do if I went into the professional world, I need to be able to work with a client to create what they want.
